A Mondragon for Data

A data collective / cooperative building data infrastructure and curating datasets. Like Mondragon in sense of both of its idealistic start with 5 people and what it could beocme in 50y e.g. 80,000 people and 260 different cooperatives in a network. Sustainable cooperative-like businesses that can do all of this work and sustain it over time and at some scale.

🅰️ℹ️ Imagine a future where communities come together to build a robust and equitable data infrastructure—a collective that not only curates valuable datasets but also empowers individuals and businesses to thrive sustainably. Your task is to design a cooperative model that mirrors the essence of Mondragon: starting with a small, dedicated team of five to create a scalable ecosystem that could engage 80,000 participants in 50 years. This model should foster collaboration, ensure fair access to data resources, and support the growth of various cooperative enterprises that can stand the test of time. How can you harness innovation in data curation and infrastructure to create a thriving, self-sustaining network of cooperatives that benefit all? Let’s build a fairer, data-driven future together!

All attendees, sponsors, partners, volunteers and staff at our hackathon are required to agree with the Hack Code of Conduct. Organisers will enforce this code throughout the event. We expect cooperation from all participants to ensure a safe environment for everybody.
